SATAN WORSHIP?
by shell69 ini've been several months out now (da'd in feb 07).
i took to wearing a pentagram , since i really do believe in these five main elements to life.. however, as you will know the pentagram is also reffered to as 'star of satan and various other things.. my point is: as far as the witlesses are concerned, i worship the devil since i dont worship jehoobah.. but!.
i would rather be a worshiper of satan, who everyone knows can be a bit of scumbag at times, but at least i know where i stand with him, than worship a god who proffesses to be the only true god, yet devastates his followers when they realise the true extent of the lies of his apparent earthly organization.. so i wear my pentagram with pride!.

Shell, a wiccan, for the most part uses an upright pentagram. An inverted pentagram is often employed by Satanists (which that in itself is an interesting religion) . I think White Dove expressed that well.
As for this part:
The point is; I think this is me desperatly trying to express myself following my exit from the borg. It is not my intention to offend anyone on this board, but I have ex-associates who have the oppinin that I have sided with the devil.
Of course. You left the only true religion and have thus sided with the Devil. Whether your pentagram is upright or inverted, or you are wearing a cross upright or inverted, matters little to them.
As for offending anyone on the board...or anyone for that matter...hahahaha, sorry, but this board is made up of so many personalities, it's impossible to make everyone happy. Just be.
If you are wishing to express an interest in paganism without conveying the wrong message to people on the board, you may wish to consider changing your pentagram to an upright one. Thats just my opinion, take it or leave it.
But if you like it and feel it best conveys what you want it to, try not to worry about others.

Hey shell...
From the some of the research I've done into the pentagram, I found that an upside down pentagram was nearly equivilent to an upside down cross.
Here are a few links:

So, perhaps the inverted pentagram on your avatar is confusing people? Dunno just a thought...

a) I really really really like that link/site you provided. I needed that more than you could know.
b) What is the definition of God? Well according to some online philosophy test I did a while back, my definition of God doesn't match up with the average definition. That being something like:
an invisible being which is all omni everything and butts his/her nose into everything etc.
My definition seems to change on a daily basis and truthfully at this point, a really large part of me is beginning to not care.
